فقد نفذت جميع الوحدات العاملة في القطاع الغربي لليونيفيل والذي يقوده حاليا اللواء الإيطالي "فولجوري" تحت أمرة الجنرال رودولفو سغانغا ، خلال الشهر الماضي ، أكثر من ألف نشاط في إطار الأنشطة التنفيذية بالتنسيق التام مع الجيش اللبناني في منطقة عمل القطاع الغربي لليونيفيل إمتثالاً لقرار الأمم المتحدة 1701.
وعلى وجه الخصوص ، في الأيام القليلة الماضية، أتيحت الفرصة لفريق مكتب التعاون المدني - العسكري لزيارة مدرسة ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في عيتا الشعب وكان في إستقبالهم المديرة السيدة دعد اسماعيل وقاموا بجولفة في أرجاء المدرسة للإطلاع على أوضاع الطلاب ونوعية التدريس وتطبيق الأنشطة والأسس التعليمية الخاصة . وأثنى فريق اليونيفيل بجهود السيدة دعد إسماعيل وطاقمها ونوه بالعمل الجيد وخصوصاً الجهود الرامية إلى رسم الابتسامات على وجوه جميع الأطفال.
نظمت الكتيبة الغانية العاملة في إطار قوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة "اليونيفيل" بعض دروس اللغة الإنكليزية ، بينما الكتيبة الكورية بعض دروس التيكواندو والخياطة أما الكتيبة الإيرلندية – الفنلندية قامت بتقديم هبة لإستكمال مشروع تدوير النفايات تسلمها رئيس بلدية عين إبل السيد عماد للوس لفائدة السكان المحليين..
كما تقوم الكتيبة الإيطالية في مقر المنصوري بعدة أنشطة تهدف إلى تمتين علاقة الصداقة مع السلطات المحلية والإلتزام تجاه القرى والبلدات والسكان المحليين في منطقة عملها . حيث قام القائد الجديد للكتيبة الإيطالية في موقع المنصوري العقيد ماريانو بيانكي بلقاء رئيس بلدية الناقورة السيد عدنان حمزة الذي نوه بجميع الأنشطة التي يقوم بها جنود حفظ السلام الإيطاليين لفائدة الأهالي . بدوره شكر العقيد بيانكي السيدة حمزة على حفاوة الإستقبال وأثنى على أهمية التعاون والتنسيق بين اليونيفيل والسلطات المحلية.
لا يزال توفير الخدمات الطبية وخدمات طب الأسنان والطب البيطري والأنشطة التعليمية لفائدة السكان سمة في القطاع الغربي، إضافة إلى التقديمات الطبية في كافة مقرات اليونيفيل ، على سبيل المثال لا الحصر ، فقط خلال الشهر الماضي تلقى حوالى 2.000 شخص المساعدة الطبية.
Sector West UNIFIL peacekeepers operating in the area are pursuing their activities in observance of Resolution 1701 and the UNIFIL Mission mandate.
In October 2017, the new incoming Sector West Brigade conducted almost 1, 000 day and night operational activities in close coordination with the Lebanese Armed Forces throughout UNIFIL area of operations.
Over the last few days, personnel from Military and Civilian Cooperation Teams had the opportunity to officially visit Mrs. DAAD ISHMAIL, the Director of the Special Needs School . This activity was conducted in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and Sector West personnel had a chance to visit the school and see how the children live in the school; what activities they conduct and observe some lessons that are taught to them. UNIFIL Team praised and encouraged Mrs. DAAD to continue with her great job, congratulating her efforts and always striving to make the children smile.
In the meantime, UNIFIL personnel from the Ghanaian Battallion provided English lessons, while the Korean Battallion personnel organized sewing and taekwondo classes in their respective areas. In addition the Irish and Finnish Battalion made a very significant donation, to Mayor IMMAD LALLOUSS to facilitate the completion of an important project concerning the waste management equipment.
The new incoming Italian Battalion in Al Mansouri conducted a number of activities with the resident population of the surrounding municipalities, maintaining close liaison with local authorities and leaders to ensure continuous support to the local population.
ITALBATT new Commander, Col Mariano BIANCHI meet with the Mayor, Mr. ADNAN AMZAH who warmly welcomed ITALBATT personnel into the town hall. On this occasion, he also expressed his gratitude to the new Commander for all the activities and projects the Italian contingent has done in support of the municipality. The new ITALBATT Commander thanked the Mayor for his hospitality and cooperation. Ultimately, Mr. ADNAN AMZAH took the opportunity to make some important remarks regarding the importance of cooperation with the municipality.
The provision of Medical, Dental and Veterinary Services and Educational activities in support of the local population continues to be important services in Sector West, which are provided almost on a daily by UNIFIL Troops Contributing Countries. In excess of 2, 000 persons received medical assistance from UNIFIL medical assets to date.
